Whats going on....

In our house lately, there have been new things happening. The Hawk is getting his first tooth (it's like they are not babies once they get teeth) and so today I opened the car door to get him out of his seat to find an explosion of poop. (sorry mom's talk about poop) Luckily I was home so into the bath he went. He has also been "almost" crawling. Again not a baby any more once they move! We have also been battling naps. Thankfully he has always slept threw the night, but the day is harder. But thanks to my "baby yoda" we have things semi figured out.

Big bird has been very whiny and clingy to me. Also everything is very dramatic when he gets hurt. But he has been so fun this season! Just like his dad he loves winter and Christmas, and the cabin, and the mountains, and fighting.......the list goes on. He has always spoken very well and clear. So now that he is mastering all the words in our house, it is funny when he gets some wrong, here are a few, yolken (for yolk of the egg), prumes (for prunes), vines (for veins), and somekin (for something). I love it, and we laugh about it. He is just like me, a ham and loves to crack jokes!

Daddy bird has been working hard, but also coming home earlier and the family is very happy about that. He has been loving doing the holiday thing with the boys this year, and even got snow in at his favorite cabin with his buddies. (God knows how to get the man to take a break)

Me, I am just taking it all in and finding myself again, as every mother has to after a baby. (first or fifth) Got myself to run three miles yesterday, and I have hope I am getting back in the swing of running again. Can't wait for spin classes!!

That's us this season so far, hope you all have a great season too!!

This week so far!

So this week has been full of adventure and it is only wed! Sunday Daddy bird went up to the cabin we frequent with some of his old buddies to fix things up for Christmas. Now this wouldn't seem so big if you were anyone else, but since I can remember I have woken up in the middle of the night screaming. i of course can laugh about it now cause it has been a part of me, but my husband did not enjoy it so much when we were first married.(that is a whole other story) But it is very scary at the time of the screa for me, so it make staying home alone terrifying.(again a whole other story)

We live in a new house now and the screaming has gone to almost none! (praise God) So I though I would try to go the night alone, and to my surprise I did it!! (no screams) But then Daddy bird calls in the morning to tell me he is snowed in. (I was jealous) I was stuck home in the wonderful rain storm we were having, and realizing I had to do another night alone.

To top that, i ran out of baby wipes. If anyone has more then one kid under the age of three, you know how FUN it is to go out in the rain with them, unless you need to. So I told myself if I had to I could use paper towels or a wash cloth. Then my lovely neighbor up the street (who is expecting her 13th) said she just had her shower and she is overloaded with wipes and if I would like some. I love having good people living near by.

Also the Hawk has been getting sleep trained! So this means crying in our house and I am ready for him to just catch on already. So by the end of Monday when the Hawk was crying in his crib and big bird would not calm down, I was done, but no daddy bird would be able to come and save me. So of course I prayed and prayed and made it threw!!

So I think I can stop there and let it be, I will have the rest for another day. I am doing great, the hawk still crying in his crib, but daddy bird is home and it brings a sense of peace and happiness back. (cheesy I know, but it's true)

My new favorite friends!!

So this one is dedicated to my newest friends!

First of course is our newest member the Hawk. We have bonded over and above and he brings me so much joy! He does not sleep well (Yet), but is always fairly happy.

Second is mustard (thanks to a Gluten free lady!) I have been trying to get these pounds off, and I ran out of my salad dressing, so to change things up I put mustard on instead.....to my surprise, it was a great change and full of flavor, but 0 calories!! Which brings me to my third. which is the 1 calorie spray Italian dressing I found in my cupboard hiding. I has so much flavor!! I love new dieting friends!

Fourth is a friend that I have known for a while now, the computer, but it is my new friend for my son. The other day, I was spent, and he wanted to play, so I gave up control, found something he could do without my help (to feed baby and get dinner ready)and off he went. He was an old pro! I felt like he was acting like a toddler around me and when I wasn't looking he was a computer wizz!

Now for the friends I miss! My shaver! My legs get pretty bad before I actually have time to get to them, without almost falling asleep.

My mornings, I don't want to sleep in, but there is something about waking up, with out someone needing you right away.

Finally my old friend time! There is never enough of you, but I am learning, what does not get done today, time will come tomorrow.....or the next day......or the next! :)

Hope you enjoyed!!

To swaddle or not to swaddle?

That is the question!

When big bird was born he loved to be bundled up, for about a week, and then it ended. Then I had the Hawk, who I would bundle in a blanket (just like big bird), more so because I could not figure out how to use those swaddle things.

But my son had very bad colic and over came my "yoda, baby guru." She came over and told me the five s's, and then showed me how those swaddle things work. My life changed from there!! Any time he was crying and would not fall asleep, I would just swaddle him up and he would calm down.

Daddy bird of course thought he hated it because every time I was swaddling him up, he would cry and squirm, until I was done, then he would relax. The Hawk has always moved his hands to his mouth, ever since birth. So when he would be sleeping, those hands would wake him up trying to get to that mouth. But the swaddle stopped all that!

But then the day came when those little hands crept out of the swaddle and I had to swaddle him tighter and tighter, which was fine because I am the one to do it all the time. But grandparents, aunts and so on, were not so good at it and the hawk just would not cooperate for them.

So the day has come to decide "swaddle or not to swaddle?" To get long naps or not. Well we have decided not to swaddle. But now I have to go threw days of short naps, that seem like they will never go back. But he does seem happier to not be swaddled up, he just wakes himself up now.

So you see my dilemma, he sleeps better with it on, but anyone besides me can not work those darn swaddles.

I will report next week to see how it is going. In the mean time, pray for sleep in our house!

Not me mondays!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

So here we go again. I love this!!

This weekend was Halloween, and I did not borrow a costume from the neighbors for the Hawk that was not the hottest outfit, that he did not wear for pictures only. I also help out at the church event "Trunk or treat," and I did not get there with "The Hawk," to then call my dad to come and get him. I did not get a call ten minutes later that he was screaming his head off, (he will be fine), and did not get a call every five to ten minutes with him still screaming his head off. I did not stay for only 30 minutes of trunk or treat to then drive home, where he was still screaming. No my baby is an angel!

Big Bird was Darth Vader, and he did not go trick or treating with the neighbor kids, running the whole time screaming William!!!! (the neighbor boy) Nor did he melt down when he was told he could not run with the pencils he had been given. He also did not come back from a house (getting candy) with candy in his mouth. No I check for razor blades and poison.

Once again it is Monday and I completely remember what I did last week, and the dishes are not piled up from the weekend, and the laundry is not still sitting in the dryer since Thursday. No I remember thing and get things done!~ O and I certainly did not write this while I was supposed to be getting ready to head to the store!

Have a great week!

Cleaning with children

So, I have a love of cleaning, weird I know, but I do. When I get started, I see more I have to do and get side tracked with something other then what I started with. Example, today I was folding laundry and when I put Daniels away in or bedroom, I decided it was a good time to clean the bathroom. When I was done with that I dusted our furniture, and walk to the living room to find my clothes still folded there to be put away. I laughed and of course put it away.

But on to the title at hand "cleaning with my kids." Before I could clean my whole house in less then two hours, with the music up loud and me dancing around while I cleaned. Not having to watch out for little hands that want to help, and grab sponges I just used to clean the toilet. (gross) It would also stay clean for about a week (in the easy areas), a month in the "spring cleaning" areas.

Now "The Hawk" is well aware when I leave a room, and demands for my attention, if I leave. (even thought I love that he loves me) It makes it harder to get the whole house cleaned in one day.

Also I have a very curious "Big Bird" who wants to help, and we are there teachers so I have to let him, also it make it so we are still hanging out having fun, even though I am cleaning. All day he was saying "actually I have to clean...because I have to." I loved it!

But it is just not the same. I clean and the next day toys are everywhere, Big Bird has over peed and hit the back and outside of the toilet, and dust just grows with more people. But I wouldn't change the cute memories of me with a big sock dusting and Big Bird with one of his, following right behind me. It is just nice to think about things in a new way. I guess the second have of the house will be there tomorrow. :)

Well here goes again...so I have not been blow drying my hair every chance I can get because, I was not so hot in the summer to do anything with it. My son did not inform me today (as he always had when I was little) "I don't like your hair up." Kids are honest.

I have not ever picked up all the clothes and put them on the bed in hopes to sort and do laundry with them, only to throw them back on the floor cause I did not forget to do something with them during the day and it is now bedtime. I also do not forget my laundry in the dryer and then do not find it still in there three days later, not me I am organized! I also have not picked up a shirt, smelled it to see if it smelled of formula or had a stain to then throw it on and go.

I do not have a regular diet meal plan I follow, and when its time for Talon to eat I do not feed him pb and j's for dinner. Not me, I have well balanced dinners here. I also did not find really low calorie dinners, just so I could have dessert!

Very last, I did not put my now four month old son in the nursery at church on Sunday, and I did not watch the number box almost the whole time, I heard the man, speaking......it was from the bible i am sure.

So that's me, hope you enjoy.

Top ten reasons to wake before your kids....

1.you can actually wake up your mind before all the questions of "why mommy" start.

2.if you like to work out, you can work out, without an almost three year old running around you in circles, trying to do the running in place part of the video.

3.you can shower without the thought of a crying baby, shave your legs, of hear a little voice say "it's slippery in there mommy?"

4.you can actually dry off from the shower without being tempted by a cute smiling baby, who looks at you like "pick me up mommy."

5.you can eat your breakfast, at a sensible pace, not just shoving it in, before you have to feed someone else.

6.you can brush your teeth without a little one saying, "I want to do mine too, right now"

7.you can put your makeup on without having to share your cotton balls or wedges, or brushes.

8.quite time with God.....should be number one on this list.

9.straighten up the house, before it becomes a disaster again.

10. and finally, you will be all ready so when those cute kiddos wake up, all your attention is on them, and you don't have to rush for the day and going places, cause you are already ready.

Guess I talked myself into waking up earlier then my kids.

Not me monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Well this is my first blog and I thought it would be good to start it off with a not me Monday....which is definitely not Tuesday when I am writing it, because I did not think of everything I was going to blog about, as I was going to sleep.

So here goes. I did not find my son playing naked Yahtzee in the living room, no we wear clothes in this house. The next day when he asked me to put him in his bed to play (fully clothed), I did not forget I put him in there and did not find him naked in there later, no again, we wear clothes.

I had a lot going on this week and so did Daniel, so when the dog kicked his bowl over to be fed, I did not pick up the bowl and put it back on the mat and forget to put the food in, never. Also I have never forgotten that I have let the dog out, and then find he has been out sitting by the door for over an hour.

Also when creating this blog, I did not spend forty five minutes trying to figure out how to do everything while my son did not put stickers all over the floor and the bed..not the paper, no I have organized games here.

So far that's my not me Monday, and first blog. Hope you liked it, there will be more to come!
